A conservatory, or sunroom, can often be a room left for spare pieces of furniture that don’t quite fit in any other space in the house. It would be correct that eclecticism is the foundation of a beautiful and unforgettable conservatory. However, is a method, albeit broad, to the decorative madness.
To begin the decorative process, it is necessary to list the key pieces that you want in your conservatory. Think convenience, comfort, weather adaptability, and of course – an abundance of green.
Key furniture pieces that will turn a conservatory into your favourite room of the house
- The first thing you’ll want is something to lounge in. A Wire lounge sofa is a great way to enjoy your downtime all the while showcasing your excellent taste in furniture.
- Another key item that you will need are side tables. Notice the plural as preferably you will want more than 1 in this space. Keep a large one nearby where you are seated so you can place any reading materials and beverages accessible. Others can be placed in corners where they can act as a host for plants and decorative items.
- Thirdly, think luxury items. If you have space for a bohemian style hammock this would make an excellent statement piece. Delicate suncatchers, chimes, and artwork all contribute to making this space the wonderfully ambiguous room that acts as the border between your home and the great outdoors.
Lastly, plants, plants, and more plants. Even if your houseplants don’t seem to thrive in the rest of your home, this is an opportunity to expose your plants to as much sun as possible. Load up your conservatory with as many different types as possible. Some suggestions are all and any kinds of succulents (including cacti), vines such as pothos, and spider plants (hung up in macarame holders).
