A marriage proposal needs to be as unique as the individual being asked for their hand in marriage. When coming up with a great proposal idea, a person needs to consider the other person’s likes and dislikes.
For example, a person afraid of heights wouldn’t want to be asked for their hand in marriage while taking a ride in a hot-air balloon. Getting them in the balloon would be enough of a challenge. They wouldn’t appreciate having this special moment in their life take place when they are terrified and just want to get back on solid ground.
Keep this in mind when coming up with a way to propose that they will truly love. The following ideas are some examples of creative proposals that will increase the likelihood of the other person saying yes.
Play a Game
Many people love board games. Incorporate the proposal into a favorite game. For instance, have one of the cards show a picture of custom engagement rings from Scott’s Custom Jewelers. When the other player comes across the card while playing, pull out the selected ring and propose. They won’t see this coming, as they are accustomed to gaming. It will take them completely by surprise.
However, this is the perfect way to propose. It incorporates something they love into the proposal. Every time they play this game in the future, they will think of that special moment and how it changed their life for the better forever.
Create a Photo Album
Put together a photo album with pictures of the happy couple. This album should show a progression of the relationship, from the first date to special events in the relationship. Include captions outlining why each photo is special and what it means to the person who created the album.
On the last page of the album, leave the photo area blank. In the caption area, pop the question. When they read this caption, be prepared with the engagement ring. They will be thrilled to say yes and create the perfect photo to complete the album.
A Magnetic Proposal
Why not spell out the proposal in magnets? Purchase magnets that spell out the words, “Will you marry me?” Ask them to go get a snack and see them melt when they read the words spelled out on the fridge. They won’t even be upset that they were asked to get a snack. They will be thrilled with the proposal and the creativity of it.
When purchasing the magnets, go a step above the ones that little children play with. Look for something classier. However, if they work with young children and that is their passion, the kids’ magnets would be perfect. It would show that the individual proposing knows what is important to them.
Include the Children
Many people come into a relationship with children they share with a former partner. When proposing, include these children. This shows the potential spouse that the children will be an integral part of the marriage. They come as a package deal. In fact, it wouldn’t hurt to get the children a small token as part of the proposal.
They don’t need their own engagement rings. However, something that shows they will be part of the new family being created will be appreciated. The person receiving the proposal will love that they are included.
Come up with something special for this proposal. It doesn’t have to be elaborate, so long as it takes the interests of the other person into consideration. Regardless of how basic or elaborate the proposal is, the focus needs to remain on the love between the two parties. That’s the most important thing.
