What Are CBD Edibles?
Typically associated with marijuana brownies, the term CBD edibles refers to forms of consumables that have a high cannabidiol content. This may be brownies, cookies, and gummies to name a few.
CBD edibles are used for their therapeutic effects. They help reduce stress and anxiety levels and are a great alternative to smoking CBD.
How to Make Homemade CBD
There is no limit to the different ways you can make cannabidiol edibles. That said, let’s get started.
Use CDB Oil
You can either make your own CBD oil or purchase potent, full-spectrum oil extracted from CBD flowers. If your oil is very strong, a drop in your dish or recipe is all you need to make CBD edibles.
When using this method to make CBD edibles, stick to recipes that for lower heat – about 320-350 Fahrenheit. You can also drizzle the oil over the top of your finished dish, or mix it in.
Use Flowers
The beauty of CBD hemp flower is its versatility – you can vape it, smoke it, make yummy edibles or make your own CBD oil. Whether you add the flower to your recipe or make your own oil, you must decarb the hemp flower first. This process activates the cannabinoid acids, transforming them into something your body can take in.
There are two ways to decarb your hemp flower – using an oven and buying decarboxylates. The latter achieves more precise results. If using an oven, tear or grind your flower and spread it over a baking sheet then bake at 220-degrees Fahrenheit for half an hour.
At higher temperatures, the CBD will boil off and render your edibles ineffective. You can skip this process if your recipe involves slow cooking.
