Are You New to Gaming? 6 Factors You Should Consider When Buying a Gaming Computer

When it comes to gaming, everyone wants to know what the best computer is. That’s completely understandable since you want your PC to give you a smooth and immersive experience.

There’s much to consider when building a gaming computer. If you’re brand new to gaming, it can be tough to know what you need. You may only want to play a few games, or you may want to play them on ultra settings. The options for hardware get overwhelming quickly, and knowing where to start is difficult for beginners.

This article will discuss several factors to consider before purchasing a gaming PC.

What’s Your Budget?

The first thing to consider when buying a gaming computer is your budget. It may seem obvious, but if you don’t know how much money you are willing to spend, it can be hard to make an informed decision.

The average price of a high-end gaming PC starts at around $1000 and goes up from there depending on what kind of specs you want in your machine. However, many mid-range options are available that won’t break the bank either!

If you want to spend over $2,000 on a custom-built desktop machine that can run all the latest games at 1080p with maximum settings and run them smoothly, then go ahead and do it! But if you just want something basic that will get the job done without breaking the bank, you might want to consider looking at laptops instead.

Monitor Resolution

A high-resolution monitor provides sharper images and greater color accuracy than a standard-resolution monitor. However, some games from sites not on GAMSTOP won’t run properly on a high-resolution monitor without special settings.

So if you want to play games at high resolutions, ensure that both your video card and operating system are compatible with the feature before purchasing a new gaming computer.

What Kind of Games Do You Want to Play?

Are you looking for something that can handle all current AAA titles on high settings, or are you satisfied playing older games like League of Legends or World of Warcraft? If so, then spending more money isn’t necessary — at least not yet.

If not, it may be worth investing in a more powerful system so that your rig can handle newer titles without any issues later on down the line.

How Much Storage Do You Need?

One of the most important factors to consider when buying a gaming PC is how much storage it has. When it comes to games, size matters — usually file size.

Bigger games require more storage space, offering more content and better graphics. To run these games faster, you’ll need plenty of hard drive space available on your computer so you can install them without running out of room.

Many modern games take up 50GB or more of space. Having at least 500GB is ideal if you want storage space that will allow you to have an amazing gaming experience at home.

How Many Programs Do You Run?

If you use many programs at once, you’ll probably want to look for a computer with more than one processor core. It will allow your computer to run multiple programs simultaneously without slowing down or crashing.

The more cores there are in the processor, the better it will handle multiple tasks at once. For example, if one program crashes while another is running in the background, having two cores will ensure that both programs don’t crash. That’s because they can run independently of each other.

Monitor (Screen) Size

Another aspect you need to consider when buying a gaming computer is how big of a monitor screen you want. You can get monitors in all different sizes, ranging from 24 inches up to 100 inches. This will determine how much real estate you have available on your screen and what kind of games you can play comfortably.

The bigger the monitor, the more expensive it will be (obviously), but it also has more pixels per inch (PPI), which means it has better clarity and color definition than smaller monitors do. Getting a smaller monitor may be preferable if you want to play games like Fortnite or Minecraft.

Those games don’t require much performance power at all. They’re mostly about graphics and not so much about speed or power.

Get a Decent PC!

It doesn’t matter if you’re new to gaming or not. No matter how much money you want to spend, there’s no reason why you can’t get a decent PC to kick off your gaming trip.
